On Thursday, March 1st Sylvan Learning center will be administering a free practice SAT here at Dixon High School. The exam is open to all current 10th and 11th graders first, so if you are a 10th or 11th grader interested in this free practice SAT please sign up in Guidance. There will be a Parent’s night with Sylvan, to receive scores and go over results on Thursday March 8th at 6:00 in the Auditorium.

New books are arriving in your media center. See your Penny Project dollars at work. We received 9 boxes of new books this semester and more will be arriving in the next two months. Come in and check them out.

We also added some nonfiction e-books to a FollettShelf link in the Destiny online catalog. Look for the EBOOKs section on the home page.

The basketball coaches would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the awesome students that came out Friday night to the game and cheered the teams on. We would love for that to be a permanent student section for every home game. The parents loved it as well. Thanks Bulldogs for showing your school spirit.

The wrestling team won a huge match last night against Southwest with a great team effort to lead the conference. Freshman Tyler Bradley, Teva Smith, and Tyrell Zylinski won big matches. Jason Sapp, Tyler Hudson, Seth Schoonover, Nick Rizzo, Austin Antinori all contributed pins to help the team pull ahead. The rest of the team kept their matches close. The team travels to Northside this weekend to compete in the county tournament. Congratulations wrestlers.

Early prom reservations are being accepted through next Friday the 13th. $30 per person or $55 per couple with checks made out to Dixon High. After the 13th all reservations will be $35 per person. Late reservations after April 6th will be $40 per person. This year's them is Masquerade de Soleil (so lay) and there will be a contest for the best mask either made or purchased. See Mr. Jones in Rm 401 during 1st period, seminar (Monday or Friday only), or after school until 4pm for your reservation.

Any seminar wishing to purchase a wreath to decorate for the Give Kids the World Project may come buy them from Mr. Lovingood in his classroom. Price is one dollar per each student in the seminar for the wreath. All proceeds from the wreath sales will go towards shipping costs and as a donation to the Give Kids the world project. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Lovingood or one of the AVID students will be by your room to answer questions and to bring you a wreath. Wreaths are due Mon Dec 12 to Mr. Lovingood

. Do you like zombie movies? Do you like Glee? Dixon High School will now have both in the upcoming original Musical "Gleefully Dead". Auditions for this spring musical will be held next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30-5:30. Please sign up for audition times on the fine arts bulletin board located beside the main office. We need many "bodies" for this musical, singing and nonsinging roles are available. If you are auditioning for a singing/speaking role please have a popular song or a show tune and a short monologue prepared. See Mr. Chambers for additional information. This past weekend, the Dixon Bulldog tournament was a huge success. Thanks to all who helped out. The team finished fourth overall out of fifteen teams. Tyler Hudson won the tournament at the heavyweight division. Jason Sapp came in second in the 220 division. The team travels to East Carteret this Wednesday
